Script

This year’s film challenge is based on a script that we will provide to each team. All the teams will be given the same script. The script needs to be in your film, but your team can interpret the script in any way you choose !

Your Team’s Criteria

Dialog: Every line of dialog in the script must be in your final film. The script will also give you the choice as to which actors/characters deliver each line of dialog - giving you many options on how to interpret the script. You can also add some additional lines of dialog at the end to give your film a unique spin if you choose to. Alternatively, just follow the script giving it your own interpretation and style.

Genre: The script is the blueprint for the film. But you are free to choose to deliver it in any genre you choose; a horror version, a comedy, drama, sci-fi, or something in-between !

Duration: Films will need to be no longer than 5 minutes 30 seconds in duration including credits and required logo’s.

Meeting the Criteria

All of the films will be judged on the following criteria:

• Films should include all lines of dialog from the script given to you.
• Films will also be judged on: creative interpretation of the script, technical quality, performances, viewer engagement and how much you surprise the judges.
• The total duration of your team's film should be no longer than 5 minutes and 30 seconds (including credits, logos etc)

Other rules

• Teams will also be given some graphics which will have to appear at the end of the film. Details will be provided upon registration.
•
This is a film challenge open to a wide range of people. As such we will not allow any graphic nudity,
sex, or excessive graphic violence in the content of the films submitted (if you are unsure – email us here).
• All footage must have been filmed during the 48 hour film challenge (i.e. no stock footage is to be
used). Please also ensure that you do not use any copyrighted music without the appropriate permissions.
• We welcome live action, animations or other artistic styles.
• Remember one of your team must attend the Kick Off Event to receive your team’s script.

• We expect someone from your team to attend the Film Screening and Award Event on Saturday 8th July.
• All films can be submitted electronically using an online tool for large file transfers (details will be made available when teams register)
