MKFN was set up in 2009 and is an important strand of ICMK’s work. MKFN brings together independent filmmakers from the region to promote collaboration and creativity.
The network is involved in the following areas of activity:
· Training and workshops: MKFN runs courses that aim to respond to the needs of filmmakers in the region.
· Promoting MK as a place to film and making it easy for filmmakers to find crew and facilities.
· Promoting wider opportunities for training across the UK:
· Running networking events with talks from industry professionals
· Providing a platform for filmmakers through regular Network Shorts screening events
